Pop Rock Fashion Robots
As a second installment of his original show in San Francisco, Eric
David mounts "Pop Rock Fashion Robots and The Army of Love 2" with his
two-man show with Dante Perez. The show is composed of collage and
paint on fabric, sun prints and wearable art. Eric created an imagined
space war which is a part of his science fiction series. He used the
camouflage design as a symbol of transparency rather than hidden
intentions portraying the war with a less serious overview. The
playful and colorful elements in his compositions are vintage Japanese
and American robots and spaceships, pink space guns barbed wire
intertwined with roses. Barbie, Hello Kitty transformed into a
Filipino love motel logo, Jimi Hendrix, Betty Boop, Popeye and angels
were represented as the army of love.

Taking on the somber side of things, Dante Perez once again presents
his affinity towards existentialism and melancholia in his
collaborative show with David. "Lonely People" is a series of digital
prints – its subject matter encircling the primitive, in-volution of
the self at the e ncounter of others. Perez captures the shared
individual experience of dandies, socialites and cosmopolitans, The
visual panache, as Perez upholds, is not limited to the solitary
figure on the beach. At the outset of urban overload, the contemporary
fusion is best taken in by drowning desolation.
